Weathering structural steel is a low-alloy steel that develops a dense, self-healing rust layer (patina) when exposed to weather, significantly slowing further corrosion while maintaining structural integrity.
Generally, the process lines of finefeeding-smelting(converter,electric furnace microalloyingtreatmentargon blowing -LF refining – low superheatcontinuous
casting (rare earth wire feeding)-control ledrolling andcooling are adopted for weathering steel. During smelting, the scrap steel is added into the furnace with
the charge and smelted according to the conventionalprocess.
After the steel is produced,the deoxidizer andalloy are added,The molten steel is treated with argonblowing and then cast immediately, Due to the addition ofrare earth elements, the weather-resistant steel is purified and the content of inclusions is greatly reduced.
